Towards Hydrogen Economy
Malaysian Association of Hydrogen Energy
(MAHE)
A platform to synergize efforts towards a Malaysian-based hydrogen economy
About us
Malaysia is committed to reduce its own carbon emission intensity by 40% by 2030 based on 2005 level. In-line with the rapid global growth and efforts towards hydrogen economy, the Malaysian Association of Hydrogen Energy (MAHE) was registered with The Registry of Societies Malaysia on 10th January 2017.
MAHE is determined to be actively involved in the ongoing global efforts to reduce carbon emissions footprint from power sources towards reducing the effects of global warming and climate change. MAHE plans to contribute positively towards this commitment by integrating the various efforts by Malaysian researchers and industries on sustainable hydrogen-based technologies.
The establishment of MAHE opens a highly potential platform for researchers and industrial practitioners to comprehensively explore the various zero and low emission technologies that uses hydrogen. Efforts from various stakeholders in MAHE are essential in developing new power sources from non-fossil fuels that have zero or low carbon emission, or are carbon neutral like hydrogen from renewable energy sources.
Strategies outlined by MAHE include the development of a Malaysian Hydrogen Energy Blueprint, establishing academia-industry project collaborations, development of hydrogen project demonstrations, consultations for knowledge and technology transfers, and planning for human capital development.
